The 21st World Congress of Accountants held in Mumbai, India from November 18-21, 2022 was an excellent platform for accountants, finance professionals, and industry experts to gather and discuss the latest trends, issues, and best practices in the accounting profession. The theme of the congress, “Building Trust, Enabling Sustainability” was particularly relevant in today’s business environment, where trust and sustainability are crucial for the success of any organization.
We were grateful for the opportunity to attend the event and meet IFAC’s president-elect, Mrs. Asmaa Resmouki. Her leadership and vision are an inspiration to us all, and we look forward to seeing how the accounting profession evolves under her guidance.
The event provided a platform to exchange ideas and gain new perspectives on the evolving accounting landscape. We left the congress with a deeper appreciation for the critical role of accountants in building trust and enabling sustainability and a renewed commitment to applying best practices in our work. We are grateful for the learning opportunities and look forward to developing our skills to contribute to sustainable development in our organizations.
